PAY FOR A DOG

IF U LOVE TO HAVE A DOG PAY FOR IT

Pet overpopulation is already a reality in USA. India with its growing trends towards pet dogs and craze for imported breeds is headed towards a day when there will be more dogs than homes in our country too.
Source of pet dogs in USA are
Breeders
puppy mills
backyard breedrs
shelters
an average intelligent American believes in getting a dog either from a breeder or a shelter and firmly believes in spay and neuter of pets. Lets see why it makes sense in Indian context
BREDER: breeders receive a loT of flack in our country. Without the realization that breeding is a science meant for betterment of the species. It ensures healhy and strong dogs . picking up a healthy dog at a price is better than picking up an unhealthy puppy mill dog
puppy mills :no explanation needed but to demote puppy mills breeders need to be encouraged
backyard breeders :anyone with a pair of dogs and you and me if we have an un neuterd dog in our house. We promote the pet overpopulation problem and cruelity as
an unplanned litter means mixed pups with lower chances of finding good homes and if these dogs further breed it means more unwanted mixed pups..finding homes for them is v difficult
planned litter: a knowing contribution to bringing life when we cannot gurantee that they will not end up in hands of backyard breeders like us.

If we are against buying and selling of dogs we should also be against a gifted dog as it is ultimately a backyard bred dog

In the end im for (good ) breeders because
pay for a healthy dog VS pay puppy mills pet shops for diseased dogs n promote them
pay for a healthier dog vs gifted dogs from backyard breeding
dog adopted vs purchased has higher chance of neglect as ppl who cant pay for the dog cant pay for its vaccines food medicines etc..
breeding is very necessary for survival of indian native breeds
saying all breeders are bad is akin to saying all people who adopt dogs do it because they are free.
Our goals shd be practical and approachable as against “ideal” if we truly wish to achieve animal welfare
